Smoke and Logic

I call it SMOKE and LOGIC

Part 1:

You’re keeping score on a board I can’t see

Looking for a winner where no one should be

I’m talking to walls that don’t have any ears

You’re counting the logic, I’m counting the years

You wanted a puzzle to solve and to break

But I’m just a heart that you managed to take

Now solitude sits on the edge of the bed

Writing down words that were never quite said

You say that you’re taming the beast in the chest

Turning my hope into quiet distress

You analyze touches and study the kiss

Tell me, did logic predict it like this?

Part 2:

So put on the dress, let it drag on the floor

Light up your cigarette, lock up the door

I don’t need a reason to want you tonight

I just want to breathe on your neck till it’s light

Hot or cold, baby, the temp doesn’t matter

As long as the silence between us can shatter

I just want you to be there

You bring me the coffee, you offer the bread

But starve every dream that I have in my head

You’re looking for patterns, you’re drawing a line

I’m trying to tell you that love isn’t design

A vessel of sorrow, a ship going down

While you watch the water and wait for me to drown

Part 3:

Ignite it again, find the spark in the ash

Before we collide and we burn in the crash

I don’t care if it’s wrong, I don’t care if it’s right

Just give me your hand and let’s turn off the light

Stop thinking, just feel it..

I hung up the dress to pair with your smoke

The last shred of hope inside of your coat

Undisputed winner... is that what you need?

Then take the victory, just don't let me bleed

I just wanted you to be there.
